Foolish Thinking

“Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit,

are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?”

Galatians 3:3

 

 

You were saved by grace.

You are kept by grace.

We do not need to begin to ‘work’ to keep our salvation.

As we abide in the vine we bear fruit.

As we submit to the pruning of the Father we bear more fruit.

It is a relationship of Father and child and not one of boss and employee.

We are in Christ and Christ is in us.

Out of that union and relationship, born out of love, we bear fruit.

Is it possible to be saved by grace then believe we must continue by works?

Yes, but...

Paul called such thinking ‘foolish’!

Renewed thinking is not foolish thinking.

Renewed thinking understands that I cannot save myself no matter how ‘good’ or prolific my works might be.  

Nor can good works lead my journey.

He must lead and as He does the fruit will be evident.

Don’t be stuck in foolish thinking!
