“Let us rejoice
and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding
of the Lamb has come,
and his
bride has made herself ready.”
Revelation 19:7
We try to ‘glamourize’
our choices by calling them by more palatable sounding names.
For example, we
call adultery an ‘affair’.
We have even
popularized the word ‘faux’; as in ‘faux leather’; ‘faux fur’ or ‘faux painting’.
But a fake by
any other name is still a fake.
Jesus even said
there were be false prophets in the last days claiming to be Him.
A ‘faux’ Jesus
is still a fake Jesus!
Anything of
value or worth is going to be counterfeited.
The church is
highly valued by Christ.
He calls her His
bride.
That being said,
it should come as no surprise that there is a ‘faux’ church!
Paul said that
the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.
So, some have
chosen to make the message more palatable but in doing so they have created a church void of power and void of the true
presence and message of God.
Please hear
this, not as an angry rant but, as a prudent caution: the church that so accommodates
man that it nudges out God is not the true bride Jesus so loves.
Who goes there: friend
or ‘faux’?
