“So after they
had fasted and prayed, they placed
their hands on them and sent them off.”
Acts 13:3
“The Lord told him,
“Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus
named Saul, for he is praying.”
Acts 9:11
“On their
release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the
chief priests and the elders had said to them. When they heard this, they
raised their voices together in prayer to
God…After they prayed, the place
where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy
Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 4:23-24,31
Pray, pray pray!
You cannot read
the Bible and the New Testament Book of Acts in particular without seeing a
connection between a move of God and prayer.
Whether the 1st
Century church was facing great persecution, about to receive significant
revelation or sending Apostles and others out in ministry the before, during
and after was soaked in prayer.
Why would we
expect it to be any different today?
Certainly it is
not for lack of need.
Can you honestly
look at the church universal, the local church or that part of the church
staring back at you from the mirror and say there is no need to pray?
Of course not!
Is there a cost
to prayer?
Yes.
Is it a
sacrifice?
Yes.
Can we ignore
prayer?
Sure.
But we ignore it
to our own peril and in disobedience to the commands of God.
This is not about
guilting you into prayer.
It is
about recognizing the importance, the priority and the place of prayer
in every believer’s
life.
We, at His
Place, are being called to move into a season of prayer unlike anything before.
If you do not
want to miss what God has for us and for you;
if you do not
want to miss all that this season holds;
pray, pray, pray…
