“Evening, and
morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”
Psalm 55:17
Suppose somehow
a doctor was able to tell you exactly how many days you had left to live.
Not guessing,
not estimating, he was able to accurately point you to a date on the calendar.
What aspects of
your life might change?
Are there phone
calls you‘ve been avoiding for years that you would now make?
Is there a trip
you have been waiting to take someday?
Do you have the
proverbial ‘bucket list’ ready to be rolled out?
What about your
prayer life?
How might that
change?
What difference
would knowing your ‘entrance into eternity’ have on the way you pray?
If you said “absolutely
no difference” I would highly suspect you
are an exception
rather than the rule.
Some events in
life can and should have impact on the way you pray.
Do you believe
we are in the last days?
I do.
No, I don’t
claim to know when Jesus will return.
But the signs of
the times certainly point to it being soon.
If we truly
believe that, then the way we pray will be affected.
There is urgency
to our prayers.
There is an
understanding that God’s grace is not extended to mankind throughout eternity.
Our prayers for unsaved
friends and loved ones are infused with a passion not felt if we thought we had
‘all the time in the world’!
As you pray,
consider the lateness of the hour in which we live.
Ask God to
direct your prayer in fruitful and purposeful ways.
Use your time of
prayer to pray according to His will and not your own.
Make good use of
the time He has given you!
