Have You Taken Your Vitamins Today?

 

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Psalm 119:11

What have you hidden in your heart?

We are promised that when we hide the Word of God in our heart it can fortify us in ways that keep us from sinning.

But we can hide other things in our hearts too.

Hide 24 hour-a-day news from your local cable channel?

Likely it will fortify you with fear.

Hide envy or gossip in your heart?

Surely that will fortify suspicion and doubt!

You get the picture.

Our hearts are to be guarded.

It is so easy to let trespassers in who bring nothing but evil.

After all the enemy comes to rob, steal and destroy while God comes to give us abundant life.

It would seem to be such an easy choice.

Yet we struggle so much with keeping our heart defenses up.

So hiding the Word there is one way to strengthen those defenses.

Take some time today and read a few verses from Psalm 119.

It is like popping a spiritual multi-vitamin!
