Buried treasure is, well, it’s buried!
It is not readily apparent.
It is not delivered to your door step like an
overnight package from FedEx.
The proverbial ‘Treasure Map’ must be followed in
order to locate it.
Sometimes believers are frustrated by a God who seems
to enjoy hide n’seek.
But consider the lukewarm.
How likely might they be to search for God – as the
prophet says – with all their heart?
God loves us.
He delights in us.
But He often does ‘hide’ Himself from the superficial
person.
The Psalmist said:
As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my
soul after you, O God.
How hungry are you for God?
Do you search for Him as you would for buried
treasure?
Or
Are you waiting like the person who waits and waits
and waits and waits...for the lottery winnings to be dropped at their feet?
Are you waiting for the doorbell or are you headed out
on a map quest?
