A Side Trip to Samaria

“For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command:

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Galatians 5:14

If we love our neighbor as we love ourselves we have fulfilled the entire law.

This is according to Jesus and He spoke of this when asked what the greatest commandment was.

This is likened to what aw would call the Golden Rule:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

Are you a pro-active believer?

Do you go out of your way and look for ways to bless and love others?

Jesus and his disciples once traveled a longer route to their destination which took them through Samaria in order to minister to a woman at a well.

He went out of His way to do good!

Sometimes we can easily excuse away the simplest kindnesses because we are too busy, too involved with our own issues or just don’t want to be stretched.

When you feel that way, stop and consider the ‘side trip’ to Samaria and the impact this ‘detour’ made by Jesus had not only on a woman but on her entire village.
