“Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out
your hearts to him,
for God is
our refuge.”
Psalm 62:8
The times we need to trust Him the most are the times
we find it most difficult to trust Him at all.
No wonder the Psalmist encourages us to trust in Him at
all times.
Not just when the bullets are whizzing past our heads
but also when we are blessed and feeling invincible.
We can become secure in ourselves for a number of
reasons.
Perhaps it is your youth.
You just feel like you can take on the world so who
needs God.
Maybe your career offers so many rewards and such
power that you begin to believe it’s all been gained by your own strength.
Maybe you were raised by parents who never acknowledged
God or His existence so you proudly carry that torch for your generation.
Whatever the reasons, we can easily convince ourselves
that we do not need God.
What a dangerous place to be!
For the believer it can easily be that one or two
areas of our lives are held back from Him.
Maybe we trust Him with our family and our friends but
not our finances.
Maybe for others their pocketbook is never an issue
but their health is.
God is our refuge and He can be trusted with every
part of your life.
Surrender those guarded areas to Him.
Those parts of your heart you have been reluctant to
reveal.
Pour out your heart to Him and discover Him as a
refuge in all of your life!
