“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love
endures forever.”
Psalm 107:1
Has the Lord brought you out?
“Brought me out from what?” you ask.
Has He exchanged the old man with the new creation in
Christ Jesus?
Is He purifying your life, setting you free from the
slavery of sin?
If the answer is yes then the only response is what
the Psalmist declared:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love
endures forever.”
Take more than a ‘peek’ at that Psalm in its’ entirety
and you find the testimony of people who had no way out of their circumstances
except for the Lord rescuing them.
Verse 17 of Psalm 107 declares:
“Some became fools through their rebellious ways
and suffered
affliction because of their iniquities.”
Have you ever rebelled against God?
Have you known the sting of your own sin?
Verse 19 reveals a turning point –
“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved
them from their distress.”
In that verse we find recognition that we cannot save
ourselves.
Apart from God we are beyond hope.
Not because of Him, but through our own actions.
No wonder the Psalmist declared
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love
endures forever.”
Is that your declaration today?
