“So also, when we
were underage, we were in slavery
under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. But when the set time had
fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem
those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of
his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and
since you are his child,
God has made you
also an heir.”
Galatians 4:3-7
Go back up and read today’s scripture again paying
special attention to the words in italics.
Did you catch the change?
Redemption moves us from the ‘we were’ to the ‘you are’!
We are God’s sons.
Don’t race by that statement.
Read it again, study it, meditate on it and let it
sink deep into your spirit.
God doesn’t just bring us into the family with a
meager role and the status of a second class family member.
We come in as His sons, His child, an heir.
The role of servant is left outside the door of the
home.
We come into the family.
We even have a part in the family ‘business’.
We are, as we were told on Sunday – in the business of
reconciliation.
We are a redemption center.
Corporately yes, but individually too!
We carry that message of redemption to a world without
hope.
We are a redeemed people!
