Are You a ‘Convincing Proof’?

“After his suffering, he presented himself to them
and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.
He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.”
Acts 1:3

There are lots of different names for followers of Christ.
There are disciples, believers, and Christians to name just a few.
But here is one you probably haven’t heard: Convincing proofs!
You see, after Jesus rose from the dead we are told that He appeared to His Apostles and disciples for a period of forty days.
He wasn’t merely walking around for the sake of getting exercise either.
He presented Himself and offered irrefutable, convincing proof that the grave was no match for the power of God and that He was indeed alive.
Then what did He do after those forty days?
Before He ascended to heaven He told His followers to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit.
With the Holy Spirit they would also receive the power to be those
‘convincing proof’ witnesses of Him in the earth.
Yes, He left you and me behind as His ‘convincing proof’.
You see, we are supposed to be more than just ‘proclaimers’.
We are called to be ‘displays’ of His power.
I have to be honest with you, some days I’m not very convincing.
My life isn’t always the proof that it should be.
With that understanding, I need to go again to God and ask for that fresh anointing and fresh power to be His witness and His convincing proof.
I need, like Mary, to settle at His feet and linger in His presence worshipping Him and receiving from Him.
How about you?
What was yesterday like for you?
Were you a convincing proof to others that Jesus is alive?
No, it’s not a life filled with ‘works’ that will do it.
It is a life filled with Him!
