Not Quite Old and Gray?

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

Isaiah 46:4

Today’s blog is written especially to those of you who are not yet considered to be in their ‘old age’ and who cannot yet find a single grey hair on their head.

To you is the promise of God – the same one spoken through the Prophet Isaiah so many years ago.

God is the One who sustains you,

It is not your job, your bank account or your family.

It is God.

He reminds you in your youth that He created you and will carry you.

And when you need rescue?

A thousand times ten thousand His hands are there to rescue.

But...it is also a message to those of us whose gray hair far outnumbers any other color on our head.

To those younger we can look back and say yes and amen to what God declares.

We’ve known the sustaining power of God.

We’ve been carried away from destruction a time or two and rescued even before we knew we needed to be.

Yes, we can declare the faithfulness of God and tell you that He can be trusted.

He will keep His word.

The writer of Ecclesiastes had these words to declare:

“Remember your creator in the days of your youth...”
Remember and don’t forget because the day will come when you too can speak to those younger and declare with the confidence of hindsight as well as faith –

God sustains, God carries and God rescues!
