“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given
to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
Certainly, the verse today from the Gospel of Matthew
is familiar to most.
We recognize them as the words of Jesus from the
Sermon on the Mount.
But when we consider them, are they applied to our
lives in a general or in a specific way?
What do I mean?
Do we generally apply and agree that God must be first
and then simply go on living our lives as we please.
Or
Do we specifically seek God as it relates to our work,
our relationships, our calling, our...you name it!
Is every part of our lives surrendered to the command?
God loves you dearly and He wants what is best for you
in each and every corner of your life.
The corners of your life going smoothly as well as the
ones that have hit a bumpy patch of late.
We are the ones who compartmentalize God and relegate
Him to a few hours once a week.
But He is a 24/7/365 God and that is why Jesus tells
us to seek Him first for every aspect of our lives.
Don’t make God a part time God in your life.
