One final question to
ask as we discuss the sovereignty of God –
Who did the sovereign
God delegate authority to on the earth?
Genesis 1:26-29 gives
us the answer:
“Then God said, “Let
us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the
fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild
animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
So God created
mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
God blessed them and
said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue
it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every
living creature that moves on the ground.”
Then God said, “I
give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree
that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”
God is the chief
being of the universe with the supreme power of the universe and He has
delegated that power through a decree of His word so that the sons and daughters
have authority to expand His kingdom on the earth.
Have you become a
citizen of the Kingdom of God through the way made possible when Jesus died on
the cross?
Do you understand the
Great Commission we have been given is not just a message we speak but also a
message we live before others?
Does your life compel
others to come into the Kingdom?
Do you exercise His
authority in the earth?
Jesus walked in that
authority.
Others were drawn to
the Kingdom, not through force but because He revealed His Father, the King, in
a way they had not known or seen before.
May our lives do the
same!
