What Do You Want?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;

knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives;

the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks,

the door will be opened.”

Matthew 7:7-8

Have you ever stood before God with your body language in a defiant pose that seems to say to Him: “Go ahead, tell me what I want!”

As if we can put God on the spot and expect that He doesn’t know what we need.

God knows our needs better than we do!

More often than not, when desperate people came to Jesus, he would ask them what it was they wanted from Him.

Not because He didn’t know and needed to be informed but rather because He was drawing faith out of them to declare and express their need.

He was more than able to meet that need but was waiting on those

Who came to Him to declare it.

Are you asking?

Are you seeking?

Are you knocking?

Are you expecting God to hear your prayer?

Then speak it.

Express your desire, express your need.

How often Jesus asked those who came to Him:

What do you want me to do for you?

Well?
