“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two
groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,”
Ephesians 2:14
There certainly is plenty of conversation nowadays
about walls and barriers.
No, I’m not here to pick a side when it comes to that
conversation.
I am here to say that no greater barrier ever existed
than the wall of sin between us and a perfect, loving Father.
We were on one side with God on the other.
But God, through Jesus Christ, destroyed that barrier
through the innocent blood of His son which was shed on the cross.
The way that once was impenetrably blocked by our
wrongdoing has been made open.
We have access and fellowship once again with the
Father.
He became our peace and our reconciler with the Father
and has given us adoption into the family of God.
Peace with God – now there’s something worth shouting
about!
