Leaving Things in Order

“until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions

through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.”

Acts 1:2

Jesus left things in order!

He was taken up to heaven and all that needed to be set in place before His ascension was done.

He left no loose ends behind.

He didn’t need to turn around and come back because something had been overlooked.

That does not mean, though, that His followers had every circumstance and every future question answered.

It does mean that when Jesus was taken up to heaven the apostles knew what they needed to know on order to do what they had been commissioned by Jesus to do.

They were to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father – the promised Holy Spirit.

That next step would bring an infilling of Gods’ Spirit that would lead them in the days, months and years ahead.

Jesus left things in order.

When we leave a ministry, a job or even this earthly life, are we leaving things in order or in chaos?

Jesus left things in order.

As much as we are able to, we should do no less!
