What’s in a Name?

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”
John 1:1-3
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

Jesus Christ
We are told that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee in heaven and earth and under the earth will bow.
We have seen in the Gospels how demons tremble at the mention of that name.
So what is it about that name?
Jesus is the very Word of God made flesh.
The Word (Jesus) stepped out of eternity and came in the flesh and walked among us to reveal the Father to us.
The word “Christ” means “anointed one”.
Put them together and the name of Jesus Christ can be expressed this way –
Jesus Christ = Word Anointed
The Anointed Word of God was sent to earth to reveal to us the Father and the Father’s heart.
The “Word Anointed” i.e. Jesus Christ, resides in the heart of every believer.
Let that sink in for a moment!
Jesus didn’t come to earth just to rescue us from hell – He came to live through us.
In other words He came so that the ‘Word Anointed’ might be seen in us.
So here’s the question, the challenge of the day –
Does your life reveal to those around you the Anointed Word of God?
I’m not asking if you can quote scripture – anyone can do that.
The challenge is – are you living epistle?
