“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything
written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Joshua 1:8
Inform – to
communicate knowledge
Transform – to
change in character or condition
Every time you open the Word of God you have a choice
to make.
And what is that choice?
Simply this – will I allow the sacred scriptures to do
nothing more than fill up my head or will I allow them to change my heart?
We are to be transformed into the image of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Simply being puffed up with a whole lot of knowledge
is not enough; even if that knowledge comes from the Word of God.
Satan had a level of knowledge in the Word.
He was informed but not transformed.
The Scribes and Pharisees likewise were very knowledgeable
in the Law of Moses – every jot and tittle – but they didn’t even recognize
their Messiah when He came.
Their heads were informed, their hearts were never
transformed.
Listen to the admonition of the Apostle Paul.
His words, inspired by the Holy Spirit, are as
essential to any believer today as they were the day he penned them.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one
approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles
the word of truth.”
II Timothy 2:15
Go beyond information allowing God’s Word to transform
you.
This is how we present ourselves to God as one
approved!
