“Lord, if it’s you,”
Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.”
Matthew 14:28-29
“But God, If you show
me the path, then I will take the next step!”
That’s our common
refrain.
We say that we are
walking by faith but really, are we?
Shouldn’t we be
taking the next step even if we don’t see where it leads?
If our eyes remain
focused on Him we can be sure of that next step.
Follow Him and let
Him blaze the trail.
Peter didn’t wait for
solid ground to appear.
He stepped out on the
water.
Sure, we read the rest of the story and scold
Peter for his unbelief but would you have been Peter stepping out in faith or
would you have been one of those who remained safely in the boat?
Jesus had the
authority and the right to scold.
We do not.
Unless you have
successfully walked on water!
God is inviting you
out on the lake.
No, not within the
safe confines of the boat.
His invitation is
into the midst of the wind and the waves.
Will you step out or
will you step back?
Every step forward
brings you closer to Him!
