“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Ephesians 6:12
The devil will do everything in his power to convince
you that all that is happening on the evening news today is just flesh and
blood out of control.
He delights in blind believers shooting at false
targets.
There is evil in the world.
But it is first and foremost a spiritual battle we are
fighting.
We are not told to put on the whole armor of God for
no reason.
Our heavenly Father knows how battles are won.
He has equipped us for that battle.
I would say to you it is won on our knees as we pray
but whether you kneel when you pray, whether you stand, whether you are
prostrate before the Lord it is indeed a battle fought in prayer.
God does not provide His children with bombs and
terror.
He equips us with the preaching of the Gospel.
Now to many frustrated people that message is the last
thing they want to hear.
They want vengeance, they want retribution.
“But to you who are listening
I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse
you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Luke 6:27-28
Jesus began by saying – “...to you who are
listening...”
Are you listening?
Are you fighting this battle in the Lord’s way and
with the weapons He has provided?
