Stand in His Strength

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Ephesians 6:10-18

At best it is unwise to refuse all that God has provided.

I am not talking about His grace or His gifts but the armor He gives to equip us!

I have a nephew in the Army whose training is in the area of ordnance.

He defuses bombs and other explosive devices.

Imagine my sister’s worst nightmare if her son announced that he did not need any of the special equipment and protective clothing needed to do his job.

Suppose he thought he was so good that they were not necessary?

Suppose he thought the effort of using them wasn’t worth his time?

Suppose he just felt he could do it all on his own?

Now if that is a foolhardy approach, how much more so when we refuse the whole armor of God!

It is not given to us so we can look good walking down a runway.

If you are earnest in your walk with God you know this is not a fashion show but a battle.

Don’t shrug off God’s armor.

Paul commands us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes.

Are you prepared today?

Have you put in the whole armor?

Not a select piece or two but all that God provides?

Good!

Now stand in His strength!!!
