Resolutely

“As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven,

Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.”

Luke 9:51

Resolute is defined as being:

marked by firm determination : resolved : bold, steady

In other words Jesus was determined and resolved to go to Jerusalem.

Others were going to celebrate the Passover.

He was going to be the Passover Lamb

Others were going to celebrate.

He was going to die a death by crucifixion.

He went boldly and with determination to do the Father’s will.

He knew what Jerusalem held for Him:

A triumphant Entry followed by an agonizing death.

But He did not seek to run from it.

He went resolutely to it.

This He did for me.

This He did for you.

This He did with confidence in the resurrection and return to His Father.

How great His love for us!
