Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem.
On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them,
“We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the
chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and
will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified.
On the third day he will be raised to life!”
Matthew 20:17-19
Jesus went to Jerusalem well aware of what would happen.
He went there resolutely.
There was no dragging of feet or unnecessary delays.
The cross awaited Him.
But still He went.
He went for you and He went for me.
That is the love of God demonstrated to each of us.
Some are made aware of what Jesus did and choose to
not believe it.
Some are made aware of what Jesus did and choose to
walk away.
Others, when made aware, choose to receive all that
was purchased at the cross.
This choice delights the Father.
He did not send He Son to die for a few.
Jesus paid the price so that anyone can come back to
the Father.
What was lost in the Garden of Eden was regained on a
hill called Calvary.
Thank you Lord!
