You and Yours

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth,

but you shall meditate on it day and night,

so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it;

for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous!

Do not tremble or be dismayed,

for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:8,9

“But God, why won’t you wave a magic wand and make me successful?”

No, we may never utter those words but often our behavior implies them.

Look again at the verses above, only this time count how many times God uses the word “you” or “your” when speaking to Joshua.

How many did you find?

Ten?

Good!

Maybe you thought success depended just on God but now you know better.

You have an essential role; a pivotal role.

As a matter of fact, you are the single greatest predictor of your success.

You read that right!

No magic wand.

God would give them the land but that did not mean Joshua and the Israelites would do nothing.

They would fight for what He gave them but He would most certainly keep His promise.

Are you waiting for God to move?

Consider perhaps that He is waiting on you.
