“For the grace of God has appeared that offers
salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly
passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present
age.”
Titus 2:11-12
No!
It is a word we don’t like.
We especially don’t like hearing “No!” when we are
determined to only hear “Yes!”
But notice, if you will, who is to say “No” in the
scripture above.
The grace of God teaches us to say no!
It teaches us to say no to ungodliness, no to worldly
passions, no to self-centered selfishness.
Jesus spoke of it when He said:
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take
up their cross daily and follow me.”
Luke 9:23
Do you have trouble saying no?
I sometimes do?
But the grace of God is always there to teach us so
that even when it is difficult we know it is necessary.
Don’t turn away from the necessary no’s in your life.
They can help you grow in grace.
