“He that believeth on
me, as the scripture hath said,
out of his belly
shall flow rivers of living water.”
John 7:38
Go into many
manufacturing facilities whose production processes includes hazardous
materials and you will find containment skids.
These skids are
designed to contain hazardous material that may leak or be spilled from drums
placed in it.
Often you will also
see a containment dike built around equipment or machinery processing hazardous
materials for that same reason.
The idea of course is
that a contained spill is not as great a risk to the rest of the plant, its personnel
or surrounding groundwater.
Yesterday I spoke to
you about not letting your light and witness for Christ be ‘contained’ by the
enemies strategies tailored to shut it down in you.
It is easy to see
that the world’s philosophy and culture is not at all ‘contained’.
It permeates all of
society.
Too often it is also so
evident in the church that there is no noticeable distinction or contrast.
When that happens it is
like the light under a bushel or the salt without savor that Jesus spoke of.
Jesus command to His
disciples was to “…go into all the world…”
Don’t be contained by
the enemy or by the culture through fear, political correctness or anything
else that would quench the Holy Spirit’s witness through you.
The phrase “…out of
his belly shall flow…” speaks of action and not containment.
We are to permeate,
to influence, to change the culture and not the other way around.
Examine your life.
Are you a container
filled up with the culture of the day or are you an influencer for the Kingdom
of God?
Great questions to start
with!
