“If you falter
in a time of trouble,
how small is your strength!”
Acts 4:10
Really now, can you sledge hammer that weight all the
way to the top and ring the bell?
You know the one at the amusement park?
Well, it is one thing to do that when you are at your
peak but could you do it when you have the flu?
Probably not!
Trouble comes to everyone on a host of different ways.
No one is immune.
It visits the believer and the unbeliever alike.
The principal in today’s verse applies to all.
Believers should draw their strength from an on-going
and intimate relationship with Christ.
In times of trouble we need to draw nearer – it is no
time to pull away.
Troubled times in our lives actually become a test and
a revealer of our strength.
When we falter, it is time to draw nearer.
If we do, we will be strengthened and refined during
seasons of trouble instead of faltering and failing.
