“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
It is very easy to be an introverted church.
But it is impossible to reconcile that with the Great
Commission.
We are not called to be self-indulgent, inward looking
isolationists.
Like a family that selfishly proclaims – “Us four and
no more!” the church that isolates is a church that disintegrates.
It is not compatible with the calling we have as
Children of God.
The church Jesus birthed is growing, advancing the Kingdom
of God on the earth.
We are always to have a heart for the world.
We cannot allow persecution or just being ‘out of
favor’ with the culture to slow or stop our commission.
When Jesus spoke the Great Commission we do not find
an out or permission to stop.
He did not include ‘if’ or ‘when’ as in if
the world mistreats you it is ok to stop or when you reach a certain
number I approve an end to the Great Commission.
We are to continue to work to fulfill His purposes on
the earth.
How will you help accomplish that today?
