“Trust in him at
all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 62:8
Shouldn’t the title be: ‘In Theses Uncertain
Times’ instead?
After all that is the more common phrase.
Yes, it is, but these are uncommon times.
Yet they are not times that have caught God unaware.
It is so very easy to be fearful and anxious about the
times we find ourselves in.
Especially if we are on a steady diet of news updates.
We are transfixed by the numbers of corona virus
cases.
But instead of those numbers, how about being
transfixed by these numbers –
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not
on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will
make your paths straight.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as
you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit.
Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He
cares for those who trust in him,
So the next time you are listening to the news, you hear
some numbers and are tempted to fear – meditate on the ‘numbers’ I have posted above
and place your hope and your trust in the one who
is able to keep you safe in these certain times!
